5 Reasons Why You’ll Love Lake Merced

Life in the city is seemingly about the hustle and bustle. However, it’s important to remember that we have mountains, redwood trees, beaches, hiking trails, and lakes – things that bring a necessary balance to life here at Parkmerced.

Today, we’re highlighting Lake Merced, which lies right in our backyard. Why do we love Lake Merced so much? Here are the top 5 reasons we enjoy our community lake:

  1. Lake Merced is Tranquil

Take a break from the busy city life by reading your favorite book on the bench just steps away from the fresh water. Being a bit under-the-radar, Lake Merced offers a sense of tranquility that is unparalleled. It’s a vast space that doesn’t get overcrowded and allows for complete unwinding. Or if you’re an artist, the scenery becomes your muse, where the trees provide great shadowing and the sunsets are the perfect finish.

  1. Lake Merced Golf Club

Lake Merced is surrounded by a Par 72 golf course and has been used for professional competitions. From what we hear, this course is pretty tough, but we have faith in your short game. Afterward, grab a bite at the on-site restaurant or peruse the pro-shop to replace all the balls you lost.

  1. Lake Merced is Photogenic

We probably didn’t have to tell you this, but Lake Merced is a haven for photographers. It’s easy to get shots of wildlife or photograph a beautiful sunset without being disturbed by others doing the same. We love seeing all of the fantastic shots that locals capture here at Lake Merced, especially on Instagram!

  1. Lake Merced Activities

We mentioned earlier that SF has great hiking opportunities and this lake has it. Lake Merced is also ideal for walking your dog, having a picnic, bird watching, fishing, and biking. Other than that, there is a 4.5-mile paved path that surrounds the lake and we heard they offer fishing classes as well.

  1. Lake Merced is close to Parkmerced

Lake Merced is in our backyard and that is the best reason of all! You don’t have to go too far to enjoy the benefits of San Francisco nature. If you stay in one of our high rises, you may even get a great view of Lake Merced and the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Such is the life at Parkmerced.
