Whatever your thing, you’re sure to find it at the apartments at Parkmerced. From nearby restaurants, bistros and markets to retail havens, museums, hiking trails, lakes and onsite fitness centers, these spacious apartments in San Francisco are literally in the middle of everything. This is no doubt the place to be whether you’re a foodie, fashionista, adventurer or fitness enthusiast. And there’s certainly no rule that says you can’t be all four!

The Foodie

Named San Francisco’s best family-oriented farmers’ market, The Stonestown Market is less than a mile from Parkmerced and is open every Sunday year-round. You’ll find fresh, locally grown fruit and produce, as well as farm-fresh eggs, locally caught seafood, baked goods and homemade honey. For take-out, there’s Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Italian nearby, as well as the popular burger restaurant Hall of Flame Burgers. For a night on the town, venture into the West Portal neighborhood to Fresca, a colorful Peruvian restaurant with delicious empanadas.

The Fashionista

If “to shop or not to shop” is never even a question, you’re probably a fashionista. Wardrobe warriors will find much to be excited about near Parkmerced. Shops at Stonestown Galleria include Banana Republic, GAP, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Express, Armani Exchange, H&M, Victoria’s Secret and a range of jewelry stores. For a more boutique experience, go just north of Parkmerced to visit Afterlife Boutique, Azalea and Covet – all places for trendy, fashion-forward gear.

The Adventurer

If you’re a true adventurer, you know Lake Merced is essentially the backyard of Parkmerced. Running and biking is a must on its 4.5-mile route through jaw-dropping scenery. But be sure to get off the trail to canoe, kayak or fish. Also nearby is Fort Funston, whose 200-foot dunes make it a very popular destination for hang gliders. If that sounds a little too extreme, take in the views with a three-mile hike. Bring your dog, too! You’re also a short drive away from the highest natural peak in San Francisco, Mount Davidson, which offers easy-to-hike trails all the way to the summit.

The Fitness Enthusiast

At Parkmerced, nobody has more hyperlocal options than the fitness enthusiast. There are 12 (yes, 12) state-of-the-art fitness centers throughout Parkmerced. If that weren’t enough, you can jump into the onsite, outdoor boot camp class every Wednesday and Saturday. If you’re a golfer, right next door is TPC Harding Park, a municipal golf course surrounded by Lake Merced on three sides. Meanwhile, the Lake Merced loop is a beautiful place for a jog or bike ride, and if beach yoga beckons, you can find your Zen at nearby Ocean Beach. And don’t forget to bring your surfboard.
